OSCARS SPECIAL 2015

Hooray for Hollywood ! Here I am back in LA for the Oscars bringing you the best and worst dressed on the night. It really was one of the blandest nights in the history of the show both in terms of entertainment and dresses. Playing safe and not in touch with their own personal style that accentuates and elevates oneself to a higher status is a failure I commonly see with personal stylists today.
So Stylebunnies and Bucks I have selected three of the best dressed in my opinion - women who truly know their own bodies, shapes and style and dress to suit rather than follow trends !

WHOOP THE STYLIST......................
Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Hudson

And the Oscar goes to......Blew everyone away the only yellow dress I noticed on the red carpet. Brought the sunshine on a very rainy day. The yellow was much deeper than the photographs dictate. The colour totally suited her skintone. Polished from head to toe knocked all other contenders into insignificance. Well done Romona Keveza and supporting cast by Jimmy Choo .

Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez

Yes its all about the Jennifers. I chose J-LO as an example of someone who truly knows her style. She sticks to similar styles for all the award shows. This dress totally blended with her skin and hair tones and I dont think anyone can dispute that she looked amazing. Funnily enough Robert Duvalls wife wore the same Elie Saab dress and no one noticed as I say all about the right dress on the right person. You learn this supreme styling with age. Topped all the best dressed lists here in LA. Rarely makes a mistake.

Gwyneth Paltrow
Controversial but I absolutely loved it daaaahlings. This dress has been slated and on many worst dressed lists. But I loved the pink it was very refreshing in a sea of red dresses. I loved the simplicity of this stunning Ralph and Russo gown AND the flower embellishment. Clean and elegant.

Gwyneth

SHOOT THE STYLIST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Felicity Jones
Felicity Jones

Needs to get a stylist or sack the stylist. This Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen - so wrong on sooo many levels. lovely girl terrible style. The colour washed her out completely she was invisible on the carpet the medieval style age inappropriate. If you want to be a winner Felicity learn to dress like one . Give me a call x

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman
Oh dear Nicole what were you thinking. The addition of the red belt made a cheap dress look even cheaper. The colour could only be described as puse. Nothing else to say. So wrong. All knew.....except Nicole. Your long standing friendship with Louis Vuitton may now be at an end.

Cate Blanchett
Again and again Cate gets it so wrong but yet she still manages to make all the best dressed lists in fashionista world-queen Cate ! While the rest of the world are mystified how she turns up looking like a bag lady EVERY time. This dull black poorly finished dress by John Galliano who has had more Oscar raspberries than any other designer. The overbearing turquoise necklace to try to liven up this gown did not work and once again looked an absolute mess. Cates stylist does not identify with her at all. Must try harder Cate darling D- for effort !

Queen Cate

Marion Cotillard
I could not finish without mentioning the travesty of Marion Cotillards haute couture Dior dress. To prove that you can spend thousands and still get it so wrong. Seriously was rather like bubble wrap designed by Parcel force prive !!! and what was going on behind her. A little birdie tells me she spent the whole after party looking behind her obviously as curious as the rest of us. tee hee !!
Marion Cotillard
Thank you for tuning in once again stylistas and remember Jojo tells it how it is I do not privately endorse anything and I am not paid to give false opinions. My only mission is to make the world a more stylish place. I love you all xxxxxxxxx

THE STYLE LIST     FEBRUARY

RESTAURANTS LONDON

With Valentines day fast approaching I thought I would share with you some recent tried and tested eateries in our wonderful Capital. One of the best cities for diverse great food and wonderful service it is hard to be disappointed these days although two places this month did manage it. The four that made it onto this month style list were all tried and tested in the last month and truly deserve their place.
Enjoy !

THE HOT LIST !!
Corrigans
CORRIGANS (Upper Grosvenor Street, Mayfair)I was treated to a wonderful Sunday lunch with a special gentleman (£29 for three courses). The best food straightforward and non fussy. The food along with the service was simply superb, indeed faultless. The ambience managed to be superior without being stuffy both in the restaurant and the bar ( a shout out to Sergei). Richard Corrigan well done. Old school done well. This restaurant has been around for several years can't believe this one passed me by !!! Try it ! Truly old school style.
The Library Room
SKETCH (Conduit Street , Mayfair)If you are going to eat here only select The Library room if you only wanted to be surrounded by beauty and tranquility. The Gourmet Rapide Menu represents real value for money and a true culinary experience. Unlike traditional Corrigans this menu is truly nouveau and the exquisite dishes really take you on a taste journey. The staff here too are excellent from the moment you enter the main entrance. They always make me feel like the most important person ever to have dined there ( although I do dine there often). They also remember the wines I drink and my favourite dishes I am sure they keep a file. A wonderful selection for Valentines dinner or a special occasion…or just lunch !
The bar at Cicchetti

CICCHETTI (Heddon Street) I was invited to the opening of the new basement bar in Piccolinos . This chain of restaurants  are a really strong brand and the new bar was inviting and smouldering. An ideal venue for a valentines rendezvous. Menu excellent and affordable. A sociable bar.

Zuma

ZUMA (Raphael street , Knightsbridge) I cannot do a restaurant blog without mentioning my perennial favourite Zuma managing to beat off all the competition after all these years.

THE NOT LIST !!!

THE DORCHESTER GRILL (Park Lane)            Alain Ducasse lends his name to this restaurant having eaten at The Hotel De Paris in Monaco we were expecting great things. This was shockingly bad. The restaurant completed a major refurbishment but managed to still look dated and shabby. I booked a special offer that they had since changed in that week but they didn't want to honour so the poor customer service immediately put me on edge and so NOT
The Grill
stylish Dorchester ! The leek veloute was like thick green sludge and the lobster ravioli was so stuffed with herbs I'm not sure where the lobster was. I can only presume many people thought this prior to my visit as the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately this establishment has not kept up with the fast changing pace of the London landscape. Will not be revisiting !!

HUSH (Lancashire Court)

Welcome to Hush
Now this hurts me to write this as I love to eat in the upstairs bar they really do have a great bar menu and I love the ambience but what I do not love is that the bar staff are all eastern European women who seem to think that men have precedence over women when it comes to being served! This has happened on several occasions its almost as though women without men with them are totally invisible. It must be a cultural thing a real need for training here as in London the sexes are very much equal and we don't always have to have men with us to buy the drinks  !! Have now raised this with Pedro who hopefully will address the issue to treat us on a more equal basis. Come on Hush not difficult ! Pull your socks up !! Will be putting this to the test and will report back in a future blog.

So Valentine style vamps enjoy these fabulously stylish restaurants (you know the ones to avoid ) but only to be enjoyed on any other night than the 14th ! So not stylish !!!!!!!! Stay in and cosy up xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Tune in next time LIVE FROM LA reporting on the 'go go' and the 'no no' of the Oscar dresses.

THE STYLE LIST

Well Stylistas I have been busy styling the rich and famous I am back in London town for the festive period but now its all over and the resolutions have been made and broken ( come on it is the second week in January) I feel you are all in need of a shot of style !!!!
So I am going to start of 2015 with five of my style favourites right here …………………
My Green Recipe
The ONLY item I purchased in the January sales the NUTRI NINJA ZAP! BANG! POW! and now I can't live without.(Currys £69.99 from £119) I have recreated my fave green juice( at £5 a shot) I have a daily fix so my Ninja has already paid for itself.
My powerhouse blend: carrots, kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, ginger and fennel with a sprinkling of chia seeds. The trick is to blend ice cubes with it much nicer chilled .

Who's laughing  now
NIGEL FARAGE just voted Briton of the year 2014 and no doubt will feature even more so in 2015 as his popularity soars. Love UKIP or not and I do think most people do these days you cannot doubt the huge shake up and impact they have had on British politics. They listened to us and brought issues into the open that are important to us. Unfortunately David Cameron seemed to forget he is our servant and not our master and continually shies away from action and discussion on things we want to discuss! GO NIGEL

Olivia Palermo

MICHAEL KORS a favourite of the STYLE LIST and his tasselled skirt the must have of the season. Tassells are everywhere for the new spring /summer collections but this skirt wins hands down. Even I cannot get hold of one sold out everywhere !! Olivia Palermo as ever models it particularly well and pairs it with a shirt as done on the runway. I love this skirt. I will find one !!!
Already walking the red carpet

TOM BATEMAN you may not know this name yet……………… but you will ! An incredibly talented young man ……and my beautiful son has been headhunted by a major Manager/agent in Beverley Hills to be the next big thing in Hollywood. Spotted at The Edinburgh Fringe my little boy has gone to live in Hollywood. Of course super smooth and stylish come on guys my baby boy HAS to make it onto the list. Watch out for him on the big screen soon !!

Caci Microlift Personal
CACI MICROLIFT PERSONAL well girls we have all gone for the super expensive CACI facials in salons the personal machine has been launched for at home use and of course I had to purchase one on behalf of all my stylistas. Well girls  I will give this a massive 10/10 you really can see a difference around the eyes and jawline. I experimented a trial period of only doing the right side of my face and there was an amazing lift. This really does work with regular use and think of the money saved on those salon treatments. The only thing to pay out for is the serum buds .

Well style bunnies I am heading back to LA in February where I will be reporting on all the latest beauty and fitness fads . Remember it happens in LA first ! and of course the yes and worst style of the award season 2015. Remember I will be there and you will see it on this blog first as always .

Keep on making the world a more stylish place you beautiful stylish people . remember don't follow fashion work that style xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jojo
