BEAUTY STYLE LISTS * SO NOW ....... OR SO CIAO !

HOWDY FASHIONEASTA BUNNIES !

I hope you are reading this surrounded by hoards of chocolate. I thought it would be a good time of year to pay attention to your skin regime and spring clean your cosmetic bags.

There are a number of new boutique ranges used by the A list celebrity crowd that used to be hard to source but with the rise and rise of new beauty internet site MyShowcase.com they have become more widely accessible. Gone are the days when you shop for mass produced products containing all sorts of baddies now is the time to put quality before quantity. If in doubt contact your local Myshowcase Stylist to come and chat with you and show you suitable products.

This week I have listed some of my current favourites in the beauty world.

AURELIA PROBIOTIC SKINCARE

The full Aurelia Range

This formidable range has won an army of prestigious awards within the beauty industry. Recently winning an unprecedented FIVE categories in The Natural Beauty Bible including 'Best New Brand '. This innovative brand uses probiotics and flowers to speed up cell renewal. All my clients that have used this range are astounded by the results almost immediately and the luminosity and hydration it brings to the skin.

NEOM CANDLES

NEOM

The purest candle on the market today. Made purely form vegetable oil and masses of essential oils. There is none of the paraffin oil found in so many candles. It has three wicks to give you even more potency. The essences really do fill the room ! It is a beauty treatment in itself. My favourite 'flavour' is Inspiration- violet, Cedarwood and chamomile. Loved by Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. Retails at £39.50 with a range of travel candles at £15

NEW CID

NEW CID

Now for a cosmetic range that you may not have heard of until now but I can assure you that you will. Everytime I get my lipstick out with a mirror and a light built in New Cid sell another one. The products are simply amazing. Clean and cutting edge. The range is extensive but I recommend the I-Light Up Lipsticks and I-Smoulder double ended smoky eye pencil and shadow. £15 and £18.50 respectively. But check out the whole range.

MIO 'SKINFIT' BODYCARE

These four women turned the beauty business upside down with their Mama Mio Range aimed at pregnant women. Now they are about to do it again with a groundbreaking body range aimed at gym bunnies. Makes skin strong, health and glowing aimed at all parts of the body from boobs to tummies to arms and muscle cooling gels. Even refreshing shower gels and double action exfoliation cream. The bodycare has everything your skin needs and nothing it doesn't. The only bodycare line that you can use on your face too. Everyone should have this range in their gym kit. I love this range .

Mama Mio The Firming Station coming to a gym near you. If not ask your Gym Why Not ???

CIAO BABY !

Girls its time to say goodbye to all those mass produced products the beauty 'led by profit' industry is peddling. Many of the products you are using on your skin your biggest organ and super absorbent contains Paraffin oil and chemical Parabens. Paraffin oil is a by product of crude oil , a thick black gunk that has to be bleached to be used in YOUR lotions and potions. A US study also found that after UV rays Paraffin oil is the second largest cause of premature ageing. So they are peddling you a myth girlfriends. As you read the labels on your food please read the labels on your beauty products as it all gets ingested one way or another. Rule of Thumb if you cant pronounce it dont use it !!!

THE STYLE LIST PRESENTS.............

THE FASHION OSCARS

Well girls here I am at the Oscars and bringing you the only Style List that matters who wore it best and who well....just looked a mess.  My three winners strangely were all wearing classic dark colours which don't normally pop on the red carpet. But these girls looked serene and stylish and did not look like they were really trying hard, there were no fashion gimmicks they just knew what suited them. The very essence of style !!!

Christian Dior
THE OSCAR GOES TO................
CHARLIZE THERON
The one stand out dress of the night and it was just plain black.Christian Dior with illusion straps. Simple perfection. Charlize is so aware of what works for her.
SANDRA BULLOCK
Alexander McQueen
Here is an example of someone in the last year who has just discovered their own style, she has been consistently looking good this season. The Classic navy Alexander McQueen looked amazing on her and she looked confident wearing it. Her hair looked chic swept to one side. Personally i would have added a statement necklace.
AMY ADAMS
Gucci Couture
Another navy dress although this time a Gucci Couture. In a red carpet awash with nude similar dresses the Navies really stood out. Looking classy  and elegant. Amy chose what she was wearing herself tonight and she has never looked better all awards season. Once again Iwould have liked to see it fininshed with a little net jewellery.

MISSED THE LIST
JULIA ROBERTS
Givenchy ?
As usual turned up looking like a bag lady. Julia seriously get yourself a stylist. You are being given boring film roles because you look dull !!It maybe Givenchy but it looked more H and M. The peplum makes the dress look rather dated  and even H and M does not stock peplums anymore.Julia we love you but
you have to love yourself more !!!

JENNIFER LAWRENCE
Christian Dior
This dress would have been amazing if it wasn't for the peplum thing going on again. It made her look cheap and off trend. Quite a surprise for Dior. This colour red is definitely her colour but didn't like the dress on her at all and would prefer her in an unfussy Calvin Klein number. J-Law we are soooo over all these silly PR falling over stunts. Yawn yawn darling.

LUPITA NYONG'O
Mmmmm controversial this one I know. But this is the honesty blog. Lupita has been my best dressed all season. One , I prefer her in much stronger colours and two this neckline did not suit her at all and did her décolletage no favours . The dress by Prada was beautiful but better on Kate Hudson or Naomi Watts. Sorry Lupita but you did win a well deserved Oscar !!
Prada

A big round of applause to Ellen De Generes for a brilliant and entertaining hosting of the event she made it relaxed and fun and managed to look effortlessly stylish in all her suit changes. A great night was had by all at all the after Oscar parties where most of the celebrities changed once again. Also a big shout out to Jared Leto .......just because.
Bye bye for now stylistas I need a lie down after four nights of Oscar fun.    jojo xxxxxxxxxxx

THE STYLE-LIST

LONDON FASHION WEEK A/W 2014

I apologise sincerely to all my fabulous fashionistas for bringing this report slightly late but I had to jet off to LA immediately post LFW. But it is the ONLY honest report so I know many of you have been waiting so I have found time to squeeze this in amongst the pre Oscar frenzy. I am literally sitting 5 minutes from The Dolby Theatre as I write this and will be bringing you all the news in my next blog.
THE FABULIST
Personally I felt LFW was not pretty just pretty poor. A little dull. Not many stand out collections. Mostly similiar dingy colours and ugly cuts. Compared to New York Fashion Week which consists of highly wearable stylish flattering collections London did not do itself proud.
King Julian

The most stylish Designers were from the Old School. The newcomers appeared very uninspiring.
JULIAN MacDONALD
Top of the Fabulist with a dazzling array of spectacular dresses. Sequinned artfully cut sexy dresses. Couture at its best. My seasonal party dresses will be courtesy of Julian the king of Red Carpet Dresses.
JASPER CONRAN
Jasper Conran
This veteran designer rolled out an impressive collection. Jasper is timeless and demonstrated that Autumn Winter clothes do not need to be dull. Checkout the bright orange wraparound coat to bring some sunshine into a Winters day. If this is too bright for you then there is always the palest nude pink dresses. Nice one Jasper !
Amanda Wakeley
AMANDA WAKELEY
Another seasoned Designer. Three words fluid, simple and sexy although not overtly. Can make all women look stylish. Amanda has designed the same way for years now she has a signature style thats why Celebrities and Royals alike have remained loyal over the years. Everyone should have an Amanda Wakeley in their wardrobe.

NOT ON THE LIST........

Barbara Casasola
BARBARA CASASOLA
Showed a little naivety in her second solo collection. The shapes were boxy and unflattering . More fashion led than style led. Definitely not a designer for stylistas to adopt.

TOM FORD

My undisputed king of style, Mr Style himself has landed on my z list with this collection. It seemed a little lazy and the clothes appeared not to have been fitted to the models. There was nothing exciting to report here except the cream pencil skirt with the black roll top sweater. Please Tom stick with the style factor and not the fashion forward. The bin liner dresses with your name on the front were particularly unattractive !
BURBERRY PRORSUM
Tribal Prints
Another House that has made my Style-List on a number of occasions. Again re hashing that perenial fashion favourite the tribal print. Nothing new not creative and dare I say ........rather a mess. See for yourself in the photo left >>>

So style followers tune in next week for my fashionblog from The Oscars -the winners and the losers......in the style stakes. Remember Jojo tells it as she sees it xxxxxx

THE STYLE-LIST

HAPPY NEW YEAR STYLISTAS !

Well here I am back in London from across the pond! I apologise to my followers for the absence of a posting in December due to my increased workload during party season.
I though my first blog of 2014 would concentrate on some important style trends > NOTE these are style trends and not fashion trends. Otherwise I would have my little style bunnies falling victim to matte bright lips and pastel jumpsuits. These trends are about working with your own style and ensuring you look your personal best without trying toooo hard girlfriends!!

TREND 1
NAILS- three words-short,oval and nude. Save the square luminous nails for the fashion victims daaahrlings.
Essie Nude
Essie is my favourite nail polish shiny and hardwearing and they have the best select of nudes. But a friend bought me Leighton Dennys 'Brief Encounter' a good nude for most skin types. I love it.
Keep nails oval look far more elegant than chav square nails.
TREND 2
Nude Kim K
FACE-three words-glossy glossy glossy! Girls keep it glossy fashion is currently dictating a matte look. But you always will look more stylish with glossy luminous skin, lips and eyes. whatever your age. Some personal  gloss favourites . Nars Illuminator (orgasm) for skin, Chanel Lip gloss (Genie). Barbara Daly for tesco Glosser Palette, a transparent gloss. for eyes lips and cheeks. As with nails I prefer a nude palette for face but with lots of false lashes.
TREND 3
Side sweep
LASHES-Forget the eyelash extensions girls so 2011 ! 2014 is all about the eyelash Lift takes 20 mins and lasts 8 weeks and costs approx £40 much less than extensions without the infections that come with it! Giving you a wide eyed look so you can pack the eyelas curlers away.
TREND 4
HAIR- Middle partings only suit those with perfectly assymetrical faces. Try a low side parting fringes are far too complicated and high maintenance. Play around with your side parting to decide which side and how low can you go to best suit YOUR face. Take a look at this piccie for inspiration.
Channelling Audrey
TREND 5
CLOTHING STYLE- any decade goes at the moment in the 'fashionworld' it is up to you to choose which one you belong to. But my STYLE trend is definitely the fifties elegant pencil skirts or circular skirts really are on trend now. Think Audrey Hepburn to get a real style angle on this era.

TREND 5
CLOTHING COLOUR- well i was right about this last summer but I can safely predict that the Blue hues will continue into this Spring /Summer. Very hot on the catwalks. check out Jonathon Saunders. Felder Felder. Armani.Marc Jacobs.
Marc Jacobs SS14
Blue Hues Shoes!
Felder Felder SS14

FINAL TREND
ON LINE STYLE trending not following the fashion pack. So remember Style bunnies keep true to you !! Keep logging on to A LIST !!

Jojoxxxxxxxxxx Its good to be back
